We are The Manchester Nanny Agency (part of Network 0to5) - covering Greater Manchester, Cheshire and all of the North West. We’ve been around for a long time... well over 20 years in fact. There are lots of different childcare options out there, and nannies can really be a hugely practical and perfect solution for many families. And far more cost effective than you might ever imagine.

Nannies can work in so many different ways. They can be full time or part time, covering anything from over 50 hours a week right down to just a single day or even just a few hours a day. You can find nannies for before and after school, holidays, weekends, nights, days and emergencies.

And you certainly don’t need to be working full time to have a nanny… even if you work on an ad hoc basis or maybe shifts, a nanny can be the answer.

They can offer bags of flexibility, crucial if you don’t work a 9 to 5 job. And because they come to you they really can help take the stress out of the work and family balancing act.

Imagine no more juggling nursery and school runs on your way to and from work, bundling the children up and out with you in the morning to get to the nursery or childminder on time, rushing to get back from work in time for pick ups, or taking time off when your child is ill.

It can be hard when your well thought out childcare arrangements break down or you just find yourself suddenly in need of help, even on an adhoc basis. We will always do everything we can to come up with an immediate solution that works for you.

Maternity Nannies

Maternity nannies are there to step in and support you. They will help with routines, sleeping and feeding and be a invaluable source of advice. They can be available for as long as you need, and we particularly have flexible maternity nannies who will happily do occasional/ad hoc nights or even days.

Before and After School Nannies

we have a great deal of experience with this. It needn’t be as difficult to solve as you may be led to believe! A lot may depend on the total sum of your requirements. If you need before and after school care, full time childcare during all school holidays, standby care in case of emergencies and possibly some element of housekeeping, then this may well be a style of job that will appeal to nannies.

Even if you just need very part time out of school care then again it is possible - it may be that the small amount of work you are offering may well link up with some other part time work the nanny has, or it may be suitable for a teaching assistant or similar, or possibly a nanny with her own child or an older semi-retired person who only wants part time work with a low level of hours.

Monday to Friday 1pm to 6.30pm.
family looking for an organised, committed and longterm nanny for three children (aged 2, 7 and 8 years old). Involves collection of youngest from morning nursery session (in Bamford) and the older two from schools in Bury and Bolton (at 3.15 and 3.55pm). The nanny must be a safe, experienced and competent driver - the family will provide a car for work use. Start May/June 2015. Negotiable salary

Temporary nanny needed - Hale WA15:
from end of March for approx 3 months. Monday to Friday 1pm to 5.30/6pm - so 25 hours per week. Family currently in Bolton (but will be moving to Wilmslow/Macclesfield area in next few months) are looking for a committed and experienced daily nanny for 19 month old twins. Very flexible with days/times etc but hoping for at least three or four half days. They would like a nanny with a strong background in child development, diet and EYFS - but also with a laidback, friendly and patient attitude who can give all round help and support within the family.. Start tbc/asap - and if at all possible a nanny who could initially work in Bolton and then in Cheshire (once they move) would be ideal.

Nanny job in Timperley WA15
Part time/full time role with two children aged 6 and 4 - before and after school termtime (Monday to Friday) - 30-34 hours per week with some full days in school holidays. This will give a salary in the region of £17-18k per annum. Essential requirements: driver plus car, Ofsted registration, experience with school aged children, strong academic background, looking for long term employment.

Nanny job - Altrincham:
20-25 hours per week - to take and collect two children (7 and 4 yrs) from local school (walkable from home - so non driver is fine)- optional extra hours with babysitting and light housework. Only need the nanny to work alternate weeks - but happy to discuss this arrangement. August start. happy to consider daily nanny or live in (au pair). salary c £10-12 per hour.

Stalybridge (Millbrook SK15):
Family looking for a temp nanny (from 20th April to 18th July 2015).
26 hours per week - working Monday to Friday - 11.45am to 5.45pm (on 3 days - and til 3.45pm on the other two days). To collect children from pre-school and school (Millbrook). Driver preferred. Must like dogs - and ideally have sound experience of EYFS.

Manchester M4
Family in central manchester are looking for a qualified nanny/nursery nurse - working Monday to Friday 2pm to 7pm with two children aged 5 yrs and 21 months old. The family already have a morning nanny/housekeeper. the role is a mixture of shared and sole charge.. and an all rounder nanny with flexible attitude is essential. Start ASAP. Permanent post. salary £8 gross per hour. A driver with car is just a preference and they are fine to consider nannies who don't have own transport.

The family can also can offer more hours if someone would also like to be involved in PA (mainly paperwork) side of family business (dental practices). Immediate start. Very negotiable package for right candidate - and can tailor the job to suit (part time or more full-time) but will need at least 3 days to start with.. and someone who can be fairly flexible is ideal. Experience and excellent references will be needed and DBS will need to be applied for.

Lovely family in Wilmslow needing a laid-back, easy going and energetic nanny/housekeeper for after school help with 5 children. Any amount of afternoons is fine - as much as someone can manage - from 3/4pm to 7pm - and the family won't need much help in school holidays. Start asap. High end negotiable salary. Must drive and have own car. Start ASAP.

Nanny - Bowdon, Altrincham:
we're looking for a committed, long term nanny (or nanny/housekeeper) for a family in Bowdon with one young child who needs collecting from a local school 3 or 4 times a week (with maybe the occasional morning run) - and they will also need full time cover during at least 7 or 8 weeks of school holidays - and happy to add on hours for light housekeeping (not cleaning). The level of hours and salary package is really negotiable - and they can guarantee a minimum level of hours to suit the right nanny. You will need to drive and have your own car. Start date tbc

Warrington WA2 - nanny for school holidays needed:
We need to find an experienced nanny to take care of 5 yr old special needs child (downs syndrome and autism) during school holidays. It's envisaged the nanny will be needed Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 2.30pm during all school holidays (unless family away). Driver plus car is needed. Ideally start for Christmas holidays but if not from Feb half term onwards.

Family living in country setting in Cheshire will be looking for an au-pair/mother's help to join the family.. they have three children (all at school) and are looking for a real all rounder - who likes country living, is comfortable around horses and happy to turn their hand to anything and be flexible. The hours are variable (generally around 5 hours per day) to help with the children etc before and after school and they would expect the aupair to be able to work one day at the weekends (with days off in week). The accommodation is selfcontained - with own bedroom, bathroom and sitting room. Salary is based on £80 per week - with additional pay on flexible basis if working more than 5 hours per day.

A driver is essential - and the family can provide a car for work use, subject to the au pair's driving history and insurance. A spanish speaking au pair would be a preference - but not essential.

We can only take applications from au-pairs who are already in the UK as we will need to pre-interview any candidates at our Manchester office.

Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions of Business are between NETWORK 0 to 5 Ltd and an employer (the Client) and are deemed to be accepted by the Client by virtue of an interview, engagement or use of an Applicant introduced by the Agency.

1. Definitions:
1.1 In these Terms of Business: “The Agency” means NETWORK 0 to 5 Ltd.
1.2 “The Client” means any person or persons or company who approaches the Agency with a view to engaging or otherwise employing an Applicant or to whom an Applicant is introduced by the Agency
1.3 “The Applicant” means a person who is registered with the Agency for the purpose of seeking employment with a Client and is introduced by the Agency to the Client to be considered for an Engagement
1.4 “Engagement” means the employment, hire or other use, directly or indirectly and whether under a contract of service or otherwise, and on a permanent, temporary or other basis, of an Applicant, by or on behalf of the Client.


General Conditions:

2. The business of the Agency is to introduce prospective Clients and Applicants to each other. The Agency does not directly or indirectly employ the Applicant. The Client is the employer of the applicant and all PAYE and National Insurance contributions, together with any other statutory rights that the Applicant is entitled to, are the responsibility of the employer

3. The Client must inform the Agency immediately an engagement is arranged with the Applicant. Exact date of commencement of employment, number of hours/days and gross salary offered must be given at the same time, and also the length of stay if the position is temporary.

4. As soon as an engagement has been arranged and the Agency notified, the placement fee will be invoiced. Invoices must be paid within 7 days of the date of invoice. Please note that an engagement is deemed to be made and shall immediately commence when the terms of employment are agreed between the Client and the Applicant, and not on the date when the Applicant actually commences duties.

5. Accounts not settled in full, within the above time scale, may be subject to an interest charge at the rate of 5% above the prevailing base rate of Barclays bank plc. for every month or part month that the account remains outstanding.

6. The Agency fee relates to the successful introduction and engagement of one prospective employee only. Any future engagement through the Agency is subject to a full placement fee.

7. If a temporary placement becomes a permanent placement, the full permanent introduction fee becomes due and the appropriate additional fee will be charged, taking into consideration the temporary fee already paid, as per the Agency’s normal terms of business.

8. In cases where the applicant has been engaged on a temporary basis and the employment continues for a period longer than that for which the fee has been calculated, or on a permanent basis, the Agency must be notified immediately and the appropriate additional fee will be charged and will be payable as per normal terms of business


9. Should the Client subsequently re-engage the Applicant within 6 months from the date of termination or withdrawal of the offer, or engage an Applicant at a future date having previously declined the services of that Applicant, a full fee becomes payable.

10. Introductions and details of any Applicant given by the Agency are confidential. If an introduction is passed to another employer which results in an engagement the Client will be liable for the full fee.

11. If the Client engages an Applicant introduced by the Agency without informing the Agency we reserve the right to charge the full permanent introduction fee (irrespective of the length or condition of engagement). In these cases the Agency’s rebate/replacement terms do not apply.

12. In the case of an engagement involving the Applicant being shared between two or more Clients each of the Clients will be responsible for making arrangements satisfactory to themselves. Each of the Clients shall be jointly and severally responsible for payment of the total fee due to the Agency


Refund Terms:

13. If the relevant employment terminates within 8 weeks the Agency will endeavour to find a replacement at no extra cost (This will not apply if the employee was made redundant or if the employee left because the conditions of employment were misrepresented by the Client). If no suitable replacement can be found within 4 weeks of termination, the Agency will charge for the original introduction as if it had been a temporary engagement. Both of these conditions only apply if the Client notifies the Agency in writing within 2 days of the termination of employment and has paid the Agency’s fees within 7 days of the date of the invoice.

14.In the event that the agreement is cancelled by the Client, after a firm booking, prior to commencement, for whatever reason, the Client will be charged 25% of the Introduction Fee which would have been payable had the Candidate been engaged, in consideration of costs incurred by the Agency. Should an employee fail to take up the appointment after the engagement has been made the Agency will endeavour to provide a replacement at no further cost to the Client.


15. Whilst every care is taken in ensuring the suitability of any Applicant introduced to the Client, the final responsibility rests with the Client as to the Applicant’s suitability. All references provided by the Applicant and/or the Agency should be verified by the Client before engagement commences. The Agency does not give any warranty as to the suitability, history, character, honesty, age or capability of any Applicant introduced by the Agency though the Agency will always check a minimum of two references and wherever possible carry out a personal interview to satisfy itself that the applicant is suitable.

16.The Agency accepts no liability whatsoever for the contents of any draft Contract it may provide the Client with to enable the Client to enter into a written contract with the Applicant. Any draft Contract is supplied as a guide and has not been drawn up by a lawyer with any specific circumstances in mind. The Agency recommends that the Client obtains its own legal advice in relation to any Contract it wishes to enter into with the Applicant.

17. The Agency shall not be liable under any circumstances for any loss, damage, or expense suffered or incurred by the Client arising from or in any way connected with the Agency seeking an Applicant for the Client or the introduction by the Agency to the Client of any Applicant or the engagement of any Applicant by the Client.

Complaints Procedure:

18. In the event that the Client wishes to complain about Network 0 to 5 Ltd., in the first instance, the complaint should be put in writing to Alison Brownlee, and an effort made to resolve any situation. If the situation has not been resolved to the Client’s satisfaction, then the letter of complaint will be passed on to the chair of the ANA Committee, and will be officially investigated.


19. The Employer and the Agency acknowledge and agree that the terms of this contract shall remain confidential and agree not to disclose, communicate or otherwise make public the same either directly or indirectly through a third party, save the professional advisers and relevant tax authorities, or otherwise as may be required by law. Furthermore, the parties hereby agree that they will not make, publish, or otherwise communicate any disparaging or derogatory statements, whether verbally, in writing or through any social media source or websites, concerning the other party hereto.‚Ä®Any complaints that may arise from either party will be dealt with in line with Network 0 to 5’s Complaints Procedure. (See clause 18). A failure to adhere to this clause risks the party in breach being subject to legal action by the other.

Fee Schedule

We have a very straightforward, transparent flat fee structure.. put in place so that we can keep the whole process within your budget right from the start… and you have the re-assurance of knowing that regardless of what you pay your nanny our fees will stay the same. We know that placement fees based on a percentage of the nanny’s salary or a multiple of a weeks salary are virtually impossible to clarify at the start of the process and you can end up paying considerably more than you budgeted for.

So we now keep our fees totally independent of salaries and simply based on the number of days/hours you need a nanny.. and you still get the full service that we have always offered and are known for.
There are no hidden extras, no registration fee and no VAT to pay…we only charge a fee if we are successful in placing a nanny with you – and we can also offer staggered fee payment options.

Our Guarantee and refund terms

We offer a straightforward no-quibble replacement free of charge if the employee leaves your employment within eight weeks.

If after four weeks we are unable to find a replacement, or you decide not to carry on with the search, we will refund your introduction fee (and only charge you a temporary fee for the time the employee worked for you)
